Summary: This is a nonprofit organization whose goals are to establish a National Institute for the Environmental issues may be facilitated. Their site includes a wealth of services and information. There is a topical directory covering population and environment, global climate change, agriculture, air, biodiverstiy, energy, forestry, marine, mining, public lands, stratospheric ozone, waste management, water quality, and wetlands. These sections contain information from several sources. Included here also is a nice section on educational resources, which includes a directory of higher education environmental programs.

Consortium on Green Design and Manufacturing (CGDM)

Included are research summaries, fact sheets, press releases, software, congressional testimony, summaries of environmental bills, and Federal Register sections. The site’s searchable word index is a great asset. There are links to laws and regulations, regional offices, and other resources, including web sites within the EPA that have home pages offering their research and publications (e.g., Stratospheric Ozone, Enviro$en$e, CLU-IN). There are listings of hotlines, information centers, and bulletin board systems; EPA models, test methods, and databases; locator services; etc.

Summary: One of the most useful sites on the web for S&H professionals. The site includes an office directory, access to official media releases, files that provide OSHA compliance assistance, OSHA standards and related documents, and links to other OSHA and S&H sites.
